- Biological indicator vials are easy to use and interpret with visual color readout in 48 hours
- Self-contained biological indicators significantly reduce possibility of contamination, minimizing false positives and assuring more accurate results
- Monitoring 250°F/121°C gravity and 270°F/132°C vacuum-assisted steam sterilization processes
3M Attest Biological indicators that monitor the effectiveness of the steam sterilization process and provide results within 48 hours. The self-contained BI for 250°F/121°C gravity and 270°F /132°C vacuum-assisted steam cycles consist of a Geobacillus stearothermophilus spore strip; sealed glass ampule with growth medium and a bromocresol purple pH indicator system; brown color-coded cap with holes for sterilant penetration and a hydrophobic filter as a bacterial barrier, and a chemical indicator on the label that changes from rose to brown when processed. After sterilization, the vial is "crushed" to join the growth media with the processed spore strip. The BI is incubated for 48 hours for a visual change readout. A color change to yellow indicates surviving spores and a positive result. -

- *When used with 3M™ Attest™ Auto-reader 490 or the Attest™ Auto-reader 490H with software version 4.2.7 or greater
Twenty-four minute readout Biological Indicator for 132°C (270°F) 3 or 4 minute and 135°C (275°F) 3 minute Dynamic-Air-Removal Steam Sterilization cycles (Brown Cap). 50 each/box.
The 3M™ Attest™ Super Rapid Readout Biological Indicator 1492V is a self-contained biological indicator specifically designed for rapid and reliable qualification testing and routine monitoring of 270°F (132°C) and 275°F (135°C) dynamic air removal (pre-vacuum and steam-flush pressure-pulse (SFPP)) steam sterilization processes when used in conjunction with the 3M™ Attest™ Auto reader 490 or the 3M™ Attest™ Auto-reader 490H having software version 4.2.7 or greater. The self-contained design includes a carrier with spores of Geobacillus stearothermophilus and a media ampoule containing bacteriological media. The spore carrier and media ampoule are contained in a plastic vial topped with a brown cap. A chemical process indicator which changes from pink to light brown or darker upon exposure to steam is located on the top of the cap.
After processing, the biological indicator is activated and incubated in the 3M™ Attest™ Auto-reader. A final negative reading after the specified incubation period indicates an acceptable sterilization process. A 24-minute result is provided when incubated in Model 490 or 490H Auto-readers having software version 4.2.7 or greater. -

As an Equipment Monitor, the 3M™ Comply™ Bowie-Dick Plus Test Pack #00135LF is designed to monitor the performance of vacuum-assisted 132C-134C (270F - 273F) steam sterilizers each day. Test packs will reproducibly detect residual air in the sterilizer chamber due to air leaks, air removal failures and inadequate vacuum - any of which can compromise sterility. The #00135LF features an early warning sheet that detects potential issues before they appear on the test sheet. Complies to ANSI/AAMI/ISO 11140-5:2007 Class 2.
